In 1908 the hot, state-of-the-art technology was represented by the Model T, Roosevelt was Commander in Chief and Robert Peary and Matthew Henson became the first men to reach the North Pole. At the same time Milwaukee Metal Products Co. was founded by Arthur Podolske in a garage on Center Street to serve the Milwaukee area as a sheet metal contractor for the building industries.

Many things have changed since then but one thing has remained the same: Milwaukee Metal has always looked for ways to add value to the company’s relationship with its customers. In 2002, the Company is using the Internet to make connections with new customers and enhance relationships with current clients.

"We have learned over the years that our customers and potential customers need information to make good decisions. Our Web site will facilitate this process and better represent the culture and capabilities of Milwaukee Metal Products." says MMP President, B.J. Parrott. The firm’s new Web site, www.MilwaukeeMetalProducts.com represents a new shift toward marketing for the century old contract manufacturer.

"The climate for manufacturing has become very competitive. There are fewer contracts to go around." says Parrott. According to Parrott, the Web site is the ideal tool to help access new customers at the lowest cost. Milwaukee Metal Products has also seen clients move to more e-mail communication in recent years.

While the firm has been computerized for many years, this is the first time the company has used technology as a promotional tool. "We’ll be delivering these benefits to our customers faster while lowering costs." adds Parrott. "We hope to add an area to the site where clients can upload CAD files quickly and efficiently." states Sales Manager, Tom Nyenhuis.

As the company continues to grow in the 21st century, many of its founding principles will remain the same. Parrott proudly states, "Our efforts in working with customers are primarily based on the high standards of ethics set by my Grandfather. It is a very important factor in the continuation of our relationships that we have established with all of our customers, old and new."
